A report and film on the Kalamazoo River to clean it up.

Project Summary:

The proposed project when complete will include an 18 minute film/video, a written script and a 30 page document detailing the 30 year failure to clean up and restore an 80 mile stretch of river, including over 2,000 acres of wetlands. Major issues addressed in the film and report will include: documenting the 50 year history of contamination of the river including the when, where and why about PCBs, providing information on human and ecological health risks from eating toxic fish, documenting US EPA responsibility under the Superfund laws, detailing progress made, responsibly identifying any viable companies that have been proven to have caused the contamination and presenting the KRPA's preferred remedy among others.
