A Draft Vision for Fort William First Nation Aquatic Communities
Spring Project Grant Award: $2700
Spring TA Grant Award: $1300
Project Summary:

Fort William First Nation (FWFN) is located on the shore of Lake Superior, immediately next to the city of Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada, yet the community does not have a vision for the protection of its aquatic communities or sustainable use of its water resources. To address this gap, in 2007 the Anishinabek of the Gitchi Gami will engage FWFN citizens in developing a draft vision for the long-term health of the FWFN watershed, which will be used as a tool to foster ecosystem-based decision making.
