The "Protect Our Parks" initiative
Spring TA Grant Award: $3500
Project Summary:

This project focuses on two state parks on northeast Michigan's Lake Huron shoreline, Negwegon and Thompson's Harbor, noted for their undeveloped shorelines and wide variety of significant and diverse natural communities. The shorelines of both parks are threatened. This project will pursue Natural Areas designation for the parks to protect their natural features and prohibit intensive development. GLAHNF technical assistance funds will be used by Indian Mission Conservation Club to develop and submit Natural Areas nominations for the parks to the Natural Heritage Program of MDNR.
