Onondaga Creek Corridor Conservation Project: Capacity Building & Farm Campaign
Fall 2007 Project Grant Award: $1,500
Fall 2007 Technical Grant Award: $1,000
Project Summary:
The Onondaga Creek Corridor Conservation Project works in interconnected spheres. In the sphere of the heart and mind, the Onondaga Creek Conservation Association seeks to cultivate a communal ethic of respect and responsibility for the creek. We help people understand the history and ecology of the water and surrounding ecosystems. We help people form a relationship with the creek so that they may actively work for its well-being. The project will provide startup costs for organizational needs such as internet service and phone and computer technology, development of a PowerPoint presentation, and development of online advocacy information and tools and distribution of best management practices for farmers and residents.
