Project Title: "Beaver Island: A great Lakes Jewel' - a grassroots eduaction/advocacy project
Fall Grant Award: $3000
Project Summary:

"Beaver Island: A Great Lakes Jewel'" is an educational and advocacy project-its centerpiece is a documentary introducing this archipelago's fragile ecosystems, and concrete steps to protect them. Our video, and complementary brochure and website, will reach thousands of people yearly, at a critical time when environmental health is being threatened and there is no time to lose. This project unifies a diverse community behind a common goal: to promote the behaviors that will preserve its resources. It also serves as an intriguing case study that can be used to teach students anywhere about Great Lakes ecosystems and their preservation.
