Grassroots Citizen Opposition to the City of West Bend Airport Expansion

Project Summary:
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of West Bend intend to expand the municipal airport into a jetport. Over 100 acres of wetlands would be impacted. This project will watchdog the Environmental Impact Study proceedings. A $2500 technical assistance grant will support attorney services and $1000 project grant will support a media campaign to highlight the inadequate need and lack of alternative sites’ research, and to remind decision-makers of the expectations for an open, fair, and thorough Environmental Impact Study.
