Be A Local Champion!

  • Are you passionate about wetland conservation in your area?
  • Would you like to help others learn about wetlands and about the Marsh Monitoring Program (MMP)?
  • Are you interested in sharing your outdoor skills and enthusiasm with others?
  • Are you interested in volunteering to help us recruit and assist MMP participants to survey birds and amphibians in wetland habitats near you?

If you answered "yes" these questions, please consider joining a Great Lakes region-wide effort headed by Bird Studies Canada as a volunteer MMP Regional Coordinator. Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers throughout the Great Lakes region, the MMP provides information on the population trends and habitat requirements of wetland dependant amphibians and birds in the region. This information makes an important contribution to the conservation and management of Great Lakes basin wetlands and their wildlife. The level of responsibility involved will be tailored to meeting the skills and availability of individual Coordinators, with full assistance provided by MMP staff where necessary.
